The Force Fitness Team Smashes the Spartan Race
Here at Force Fitness, we don’t just talk about functional fitness…we actively practice it, and we never shy away from a challenge. So, when it was time for this Summer’s Spartan Race, we committed.
What is the Spartan Race?
Over 2 days, participants put themselves through obstacle courses of various distances and difficulties, testing strength, endurance and stamina. The 2025 Midlands Spartan Race was held at Belvoir Castle in Lincolnshire, a grand setting with wide open fields, rugged woodland and hilly slopes. The weekend consisted of a 21km Beast run, with 30 obstacles on the first day and Super 10km run and 5km Sprint on the second day. Competitors could choose to take part in as many of the events as they want, with the most hardened athletes taking part in all three, achieving the coveted trifecta.
It's truly a celebration of human physical achievement, with obstacles ranging from inverse monkey bars, atlas stones, sandbag carries and Hercules lifts, pushing every part of the body and every muscle to it’s limits. With the rise if hybrid training and functional fitness, the Spartan Race has soared in popularity, ever since it’s conception in 2010. It shows that more and more people are looking outside of the gym to put their physical performance to the test.
Force Fitness in the Spartan Race
Force Fitness’ team took on the Spartan Race with our very own Rich Hawkins completing all three events, achieving the Trifecta and showing that this isn’t just a brand, it’s a lifestyle and we’re passionate about it. We believe hybrid training and functional fitness should be an integral cornerstone to everyone’s life, with Force Fitness leading the way by example, not just words.
