S.W.A.T. units are recognized as one of the most challenging elite police units globally. 

Selection Criteria:

  • To qualify for the selection course, candidates must have completed a rigorous 6-month police academy and served as a police officer for at least a year.
  • Satisfactory scores on yearly and monthly evaluations are prerequisites.

Selection Course:

Chart Standards Police Special Response Team:

  1. Wall Climb

    • Jump and Climb over a 2-meter wall.
  2. Rope Climb

    • Climb up a 10-meter high rope.
  3. Rope Hold

    • Don't use your legs at all while hanging for 45 seconds.
  4. 100 Yard Sprint

    • Complete in less than 15 seconds.
  5. 100 Yard Firemen Carry

    • Full sprint without slowing down.
  6. 1.5-mile run

    • Must be accomplished in less than 12 minutes.
  7. 400 Yard Swim

    • Not timed, but not allowed to stop.
  8. Tower Jump

    • On-command jump from a 10-meter tower into water.
  9. Tread Water

    • Keep head above water for 10 minutes.
  10. Benchpress

    • Bench your Bodyweight + 25 lbs at least once.
  11. Pullups

    • Dead Hang Pull-ups with 25 lbs at least 5x.
  12. Pushups

    • At least 42 reps in 1 min.
  13. Sit-Ups

    • At least 39 reps in 1 min.
  14. Hack Squat

    • 1 max rep with 100 lbs over bodyweight.

Physical Requirements S.W.A.T.:

  • The test comprises 14 exercises completed consecutively.
  • Events include wall climb, rope climb, sprint, swim, tower jump, and more.
  • Candidates receive minimal breaks during the test.
  • Accuracy and proper form are crucial in evaluations.
